Gruha Jyothi Registration

Gruha Jyothi is the Karnataka government's flagship scheme that provides up to 200 units of free electricity per month to domestic consumers. To avail the benefit, homeowners must register their property under the scheme through BESCOM. Eligibility, Aadhaar linking, and correct meter mapping are critical steps errors in registration can delay or deny the benefit. Yes, as of 2026 the Gruha Jyothi scheme is active. Eligible domestic consumers can receive up to 200 units of free electricity per month.
You need to register under the Gruha Jyothi scheme through the BESCOM portal or Seva Sindhu. Vault handles the entire registration process for you.
If your monthly consumption exceeds 200 units, you will be charged for the units consumed above 200 at the applicable BESCOM slab rate. Only the first 200 units are free.
Aadhaar linking is done through the BESCOM portal. Vault handles this as part of the registration process; you just share your Aadhaar details securely.
The scheme is for domestic electricity consumers (residential use only). The property must be under your name in BESCOM records. NRIs and outstation owners who meet the criteria can also apply through Vault.
